    History....
    The bomber Jacket MA-1
In 1949, the B-15 evolved into the MA-1 model. Today it is the most popular version among bombers, but also the most commercialized. Just like the previous model, this one evolves in parallel with the progress of aviation. The MA-1 is designed by the US Air Force and historically produced by Dobbs Industries (later Alpha Industries) under the specification MIL-J-8279. As cockpits benefit from better insulation, the sheepskin collar of the bomber collar is replaced by a knit collar (cotton or wool). It allows more space for the parachute harnesses. Outside and inside, the MA-1 is made from nylon. Between these two layers of nylon is inserted a layer of wool to keep warm. After a few years of service, this layer is replaced by a polyester layer, which is much lighter and more heat-retaining. In case of a plane crash, the orange interior (so familiar) allows the pilot to be visible and to be rescued quickly. At that time, other colors replaced the authentic navy. It is notably found in sage green during the Korean and Vietnam wars: a color close to the vegetation and hostile areas of Asia.

    Precautions for washing:
Hand wash. Clean the canvas with a damp sponge.
Washing in Machine and Dryer FORBIDDEN
